1. Matches consist of two 10 minute halves of play with a 3 minute half time.
2. Teams may only have a timeout if a player is injured. The clock will stop for this.
3. The game is played on a half court and the ball must be cleared to the 3/4 line to change possession. This will occur on a rebound or a score.
4. The game will commence with a jump ball, then the ball must be cleared to begin possession.
5. On a score, the ball will be given to the opponent to clear and begin their possession.
6. A disputed ball / will result in a jump ball.
7. Baskets are worth 2 and 3 points as per 5 on 5 rules.
8. Players will have 5 personal fouls. On the 5th foul, the opposition will be awarded 2 free throws and the same for every foul committed by that player from then on. This prevents a team from being overly disadvantaged by losing a player.
9. Free throws will be awarded on a shooting foul.
10. Any abuse, offensive language or ongoing disputing the umpiring decisions will result in a technical foul. 2 technical fouls will result in the player being ejected from the game.
11. During play, the 3/4 line will be deemed out of play unless the ball is being cleared.
12. Teams may have a maximum of 4 players on their team on the day to allow for substitution. Teams may have up to 6 players available on their roster to play for their team. This allows to cater for injury/illness resulting before any tournament. Substitutions may be made when that team has cleared the ball. There is no limit to the number of subs however it must be done instantly and not affect the flow of the game
13. Umpires will utilise a 3 - 2 - 1 MVP voting system for each match. 3 being the most votes, 1 being the least. These votes will be tallied to determine a tournament MVP. The Director will make the final determination depending on other factors should there be a tied score. Factors which may affect the decision may be, points scored, team success or overall impact on the games.
